«On their way out for a recording session, John Lennon and Yoko Ono signed several autographs, including a copy of 'Double Fantasy' for Mark David Chapman, which he handed Lennon silently. Upon their return several hours later, Chapman shot Lennon four times (represented here by the four broken guitar strings), and waited silently on the sidewalk for police to arrive.
