Freddie Mercury came to the UK as a kid because people that looked like him were being killed back home in Zanzibar.
In the UK, he formed Queen.
In the UK, he became a global icon.
But he didn’t become British by getting famous. He became British by building a life here. Just as a factory worker, or a doctor, or anybody else does.
Billionaires want you to hate immigrants, so we don’t blame them for our problems.
We won’t fall for it.

This billboard appeared in a random street in Dundee, Scotland last year. A creation by the artist Jeremy Deller.
Both George Michael and Andrew Ridley had immigrant fathers who had come to the UK escaping conflict.
Michael’s father was Greek Cypriot, Ridgeley’s father had been expelled from Egypt during the Suez crisis.
Activism with a smile like this is so powerful.
Immigrants add a richness to British culture which is all around us, and in a way that the hateful far-right politicians and media would never have you believe.
As for all those trying to demonise immigrants, trying to intimidate us with our own flag, if you don’t like all of us enriching society and adding to the Great in Britain, perhaps it’s time to look at emigration?
And no need to wake me up before you go- go...
